Why I developed Season Shield…
For a number of months, I’ve been developing a solution to a number of problems. Not just for myself, but most likely for a number of mobile vehicle detailers.
The issue is created by the fact that not everyone needs someone else to wash and protect their car. Most use a Car Wash, some wash their vehicle themselves. And the nasty folks out there never maintain their vehicle! I know right!
Truth is - I don’t have a problem with the likes of IMO Car Washes, they have over 200+ locations in the UK alone so they must be doing something right! Them or any other local hand car wash establishment - they’re good right?
Sure they clean your car at face value, make it look all shiny during the summer and rinse off the nasties in the winter, but that is the only thing they do. No offence to them, but its just not enough to truly protect your car long-term.
My solution isn’t to sulk about those businesses and attempt to slate their poor work practices and potentially dangerous use of certain chemicals, but to enable people to use them to their advantage. Whilst keeping more money in peoples pockets.
Put simply - we prepare your vehicle for summer, and prepare your vehicle for winter - in-between those two visits, its up to you. Use your local establishment, maintain your vehicle yourself or get us in for a maintenance wash. Its up to you.

It combines years of understanding the types of contaminants likely to attack your car throughout the year along with the knowledge of what products last the best during different seasons and are best prepared to offer the best protection from the elements.
Season Shield x2 is formulated to handle the seasonal challenges your car faces, from the scorching UV rays and road salts of winter to the acidic rain and debris of summer. With Season Shield x2, you can rest assured that your car’s exterior is protected, no matter the season.
Why You Need Season Shield x2

Season Shield x2 ‘s Spring Decontamination delivers superior durability to prepare your vehicle for the summer months, lasting up to 6 months per application. This long-lasting protection plan means fewer trips to the car wash, saving you time and money. When preparing for winter, an additional protective layer is applied to give your vehicle a fighting chance of beating the elements.

The harsh UV rays of summer can cause fading and oxidation on your car's paint and bumpers, while winter's freezing temperatures, road salts, and grime can cause corrosion and damage. Season Shield x2 has been formulated to resist these elements, providing an effective shield against the sun's rays with our SI02 multi-polymer summer sealant and a protective SI02 graphene wax shield for the winter months to protect your vehicle from the corrosive effects of salt and moisture.

How the Season Shield x2 plan works
Whilst we don’t want to give away all our secrets, its only fair you understand exactly the treatment your vehicle will get in spring time, and again before winter strikes:
Spring Decomtamination
Full Wheel, arches and body decontamination: We begin by thoroughly rinsing your vehicle to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants. Most of this step is contactless, using solutions to break down the salt, grit and winters worst. Your wheels AND tyres will be treated to an iron fallout remover to break down the brake dust, whilst the body will receive a citrus degrease to break down road grime and other contaminants.
Contact Wash: Once we’re sure all the nasties have been rinsed off your vehicle, we’ll use a shampoo that provides two key features. 1 - Cleanses your bodywork to further breakdown smaller particles. 2 - Removes the SI02 graphene wax protection we applied before the start of winter. The second feature is almost as important as the first - we don’t want to be applying a new layer of protection over a layer of protection which is most likely starting to break down thanks to the madness of winter driving.
Bumper/Trim Protect: We’ll apply a silicon sealant to bumpers and black trims to bring the black back and remove the fading.
Clay Bar preparation: Using a clay bar or clay mitts over the bodywork and glass will further remove contamination to make your bodywork as smooth as possible before we start to buff out the scratches caused by winter. If required, we will also apply a tar remover and iron fallout remover to the bodywork.
Polish the Surface: We’ll provide a single stage polish using an all-in-one compound - lets be honest - its not going to remove the deep scratches but it’ll certainly reduce and even remove the light scuffs, dried in bird bombs and swirls left over from months of winter driving and the odd quick-wash you had done a week before travelling to family for Christmas. After the polish is completed - your vehicles bodywork will be just one step away from Summer ready.
A Summer Sealant: With a super-clean, smooth vehicle, we’ll apply a special Sealant. No its not mastic! The sealant contains advanced polymers and something called SI02 silicon dioxide, also known as silica. It's a chemical compound composed of silicon and oxygen, naturally occurring in various forms like quartz and sand. In car care, it's a common ingredient in products like ceramic coatings and waxes, offering a glossy finish and enhanced protection against the elements. Applying our Summer Sealant to your vehicle creates a wonderful glossy finish, and amazing water-beading when that summer downpour hits. You’ll be amazed by the finish and although its not quite as long lasting as a ceramic coat, its the perfect amount of protection for summer.
Between our twice a year washes you have a number of options
Maintenance Wash: If you prefer, we’d be more than happy to carry out our Essential or Enhanced wash. They’ll remove the surface stuff, be keeps the summer protection in place. Its a much gentler wash to take your vehicle back to how it was when we carried out the Spring Decontamination or Winter Preparation. We even offer a discount price for anyone who is making the most of our Season Shield x2 plan.
Use a Car Wash: Yep we said it! Whilst there might be a possibility that some car wash establishments use chemicals which may damage the protection we put down - we’re quite confident their chemicals will be so watered down, they won't even scratch the surface. But they MIGHT scratch the surface - if you catch my drift.
Clean it yourself: So you’ve seen your vehicle transform from a grimy winter warrior to a shiny summer stunner and you want to keep it that way. We’re happy to provide simple instructions and guidance on how to keep your car fresh all summer - we might even bung you a goodie bag of product to last you the summer.
Don’t do a thing: Not our favourite option, 6 months is a fair time to go without treating your car, van or motorhome but hey, its still an option. Our summer sealant will keep the body protected but we cant promise the car will stay sparkle clean for the whole time.
Winter Preparation
Rinse and rinse again!: Thousands of bugs and bird bombs have attacked your car or van over the summer, the odd downpour of rain, carrying Saharan desert sand is laying on your roof and bonnet and your wheels are caked in brake dust. We’ll shift the lot which will leave us with a fairly clean car, still showing some signs of water beading thanks to the summer sealant - but its starting to struggle.
Bumper/Trim Protect: We’ll assess any discolouration or fading to black trims and bumpers caused by UV rays and apply a silicon sealant to make them prepared for winter.
Summer Sealant Removal: The SI02 summer sealant has done very well, but its not what it was and needs to come off before we add a stronger shield for winter. We’ll treat your car to the most soapy, foamy wash its ever had, breaking down the tired sealant and resetting your bodywork.
Protective Winter Shield: Summer Sealant is nice, but a Winter Wax is what we need. Providing your vehicle with an additional layer of protection is required to keep the abuse winter throws at it at bay. Our graphene infused SI02 Wax is actually recommended for yearly application with 12 months durability but we only need to it last 6 months. So we’re confident it does the job. However, dont think just because summer is done, your car or van needs to look dull for winter. Our winter wax shield will continue to make your vehicle look gloosy and rich in colour.
When to Apply Season Shield x2
In order to our Season Shield x2 plan to be fully effective, we recommend the following:
February/March/April: Ideal time to complete our Spring Decontamination
September/October: After a summer of a shiny car, its the best time to add the extra layer of protection for winter.
Regular Washes: The more dirt on your car, the harder your protection has to work. Regular maintenance washes are recommended to keep your vehicle fresh and protected.
So whats this plan ACTUALLY going to cost?

Based on feedback from our existing customers and the range of vehicles currently benefiting from our Season Shield x2 plan, the average cost typically ranges between £350-£450. This includes two visits per year: one for a thorough decontamination in preparation for summer, and one to ensure your vehicle is ready for the winter months.
We offer flexible payment options to suit your preferences: you can choose to pay monthly, split the cost into two payments, or make a single payment upfront. The choice is entirely yours!
We also offer a discounted ‘Essential Wash’ as and when it suits you between the yearly cycle to maintain your vehicle for just £30-£40*

Conclusion
Season Shield x2 means you don’t always have to get an expensive wash, and you can be confident that even when you need to visit your local IMO for a quick wash, you know anything they throw at your vehicle wont cause any irreversible damage.
Setup for summer, keep it fresh however you like, and protect for winter. Job done and pockets not empty. That’s what we like.
