Choosing The Right EV Installer

An EV charger is only as good as the installation behind it. I'll assess your property, electrical supply and charging requirements before recommending the right solution.

With over 20 years' electrical experience and the appropriate EV training, you can have confidence that the installation is being approached as an electrical installation first.

My 3-Step Approach

Before recommending a charger, I'll look at what you actually need and how the installation will work at your property.

01

What Do You Need?

I'll discuss your vehicle, charging habits and how you want to use your charger.

02

How Can It Be Installed?

I'll assess your property and electrical installation to work out the most practical way to install your charger.

03

What's Your Budget?

We'll look at the available options and find a charger and installation that makes sense for your requirements and budget.

The aim is simple: recommend the right charger for you, rather than simply selling you the most expensive one.

Installing A Tesla Wall Connector?

Tesla Wall Connectors are excellent chargers, but their electrical protection requirements can be different from some other home EV chargers.

PME / PEN Fault Protection Where required, additional protection needs to be provided as part of the installation.

What Does That Mean?

Unlike chargers with built-in PME/PEN fault protection, a Tesla Wall Connector may require the protection to be provided elsewhere in the installation.

Your existing electrical installation is assessed first
The earthing arrangement is checked
PEN fault protection is provided where required
A suitable EV consumer unit can be installed
The complete installation is tested and certified

Every installation is different. The protection required depends on the property's earthing arrangement and the installation conditions. I'll assess this before deciding on the appropriate solution.

DNO

National Grid Approval

I'll take care of the application and deal with the approval process on your behalf.

I'll Handle The Grid Approval

Installing an EV charger can require approval from your local electricity network operator before the installation goes ahead.

I complete the application on your behalf using your property and charger details, then deal with the approval process so you don't have to.

01 I'll collect the information needed for the application.
02 I'll submit the EV charger application to the network operator.
03 Once approved, I'll provide you with the confirmation document.

Usually a straightforward process. National Grid currently provides an immediate approval outcome for eligible online applications, with the formal confirmation letter emailed on the next working day when approved.

Ready For Your EV Charger?

Tell me about your vehicle, your home and what you're looking for. I'll help you find the right charging solution and explain what the installation involves.
